Position Summary
The Barowsky School of Business is seeking a part-time instructor to teach a course in the Healthcare Executive MBA program during the spring of 2024 (March-April 2024). The class meets on Tuesdays online and in-person on four Saturdays.


  • Teach a three-unit course at the graduate level
  • Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students
  • Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework
  • Uphold academic performance standards and integrity
  • Instructors are required to work with the School to complete assessments of their course for AACSB Assurance of Learning purposes
  • Course Description

  • MBAH 5409.1 – Organizational Behavior in Healthcare (March 16-April 30, 2024; online on Tuesdays from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm and in-person on four Saturdays from 8:00 am-12:00 pm) In this course, students learn how managerial and organizational processes work in healthcare settings by using behavioral sciences. They examine the role and dynamics of individual and group interactions and analyze workplace behavior and culture to improve motivation and commitment, job satisfaction, team dynamics, and organizational design. Students use behavioral models to understand how to improve leadership and effect change management in the healthcare sector.

  • Master’s degree in business with a focus on healthcare management.
  • Experience with organizational behavior in the healthcare sector.
  • Must be a California resident.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in healthcare management or business with a focus on healthcare organizational behavior.
  • Experience working with healthcare industry professionals on organizational behavior issues and solutions.

    Adjunct Compensation

    Adjunct Faculty members are employed in a professional capacity at the University. For courses, including service-learning courses and laboratories, the University compensates Adjunct Faculty Members on a per-unit basis for Course-Related Work as set forth in Article 15 of the CBA. All other duties or work performed on behalf of the University as an Adjunct Faculty Member are compensated in accordance with Article 12 – Faculty Development or Article 16 – Special Compensation. Adjunct Faculty Members who teach on a per-unit basis shall receive compensation per unit for assignments as an instructor for a credit-bearing course or laboratory. Movement through the step system shall be based on total number of Dominican Points and satisfactory performance, as set forth in Article 13, Performance Evaluation.
