Young people may be terrified of sex because of the expectations built up by watching pornography

What do you want your children to learn about pornography? It is a relevant question and probably coming soon to a school near you. The reason is that the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment, which oversees what is taught in schools, is reviewing the social, personal and health education programme for both junior and senior pupils in secondary schools.
The programme incorporates relationships and sexuality education (RSE), and influential voices, including the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, want pupils to be taught about pornography because it is so pervasive in youngsters’ lives and is potentially extremely harmful.
