CT women seek $60M to settle Yale fertility pain medication lawsuit

The proposed settlements, filed in Superior Court, would top more than $60 million.

Joshua Koskoff, who represents the women and their spouses in the lawsuits, declined comment on the proposed settlements.

Yale officials did not immediately return calls and emails for comment.

Trial in the cases is scheduled for October 2025.

The lawsuits, filed against Yale University, which operates the Yale Fertility Center and Yale Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility clinic in Orange and Long Wharf in New Haven, claim the university failed to implement basic steps to avoid opioid diversion, allowed an opioid-addicted nurse to manage the supply of fentanyl and, when the drug diversion was discovered, failed to alert all of the patients that could have been impacted.
