Get Rid Of Unused, Expired Medicine At Parsippany Drug Take-Back Day

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Do you need to dispose of unwanted, unnecessary, or expired medication? On Saturday, April 27, the Drug Enforcement Administration and Parsippany-Troy Hills Police are participating in the 26th National Take Back Initiative (NTBI) along with other local law enforcement.

The event will take place at Whole Foods Plaza (outside the Paper Store) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and throughout other locations in Morris County.

The NTBI is a day to dispose of unused, unwanted, and expired medications. For more than a decade, the event has helped Americans easily rid their homes of unneeded medications—those that are old, unwanted, or expired—that too often become a gateway to addiction.

Take Back Day offers free and anonymous disposal of unneeded medications at close to 5,000 local drop-off locations nationwide.

Here are some other locations in Morris County to drop off prescriptions, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., as well as which law enforcement agency will be there:

  • Chester Police Department: Chester PD Headquarters
  • East Hanover Police Department: East Hanover PD Lobby
  • Florham Park Police Department: Florham Borough Hall
  • Hanover Township Police: Wegman’s
  • Harding Township Police Department: Harding Township PD Headquarters
  • Morris County Prosecutor’s Office/Morris Plains Police Department: Hanover Shoprite
  • Morris County Prosecutor’s Office/Morris Plains PD: Morris Plains Stop and Shop
  • Morris County Prosecutor’s Office/Morris Plains PD: Randolph Acme Supermarket
  • Morristown Police/Morris Township Police: Morristown Town Hall
  • Mount Olive Township Police Department: Flanders Fire Department
  • Mount Olive Township Police Department: Budd Lake Fire Department
  • Parsippany-Troy Hills Police: Whole Foods Plaza, outside The Paper Store
  • Rockaway Township Police Department: Walmart
  • Rockaway Borough Police Department: Rockaway Borough Community Center

In partnership with local law enforcement, Take Back Day has removed 8,650 tons of medication from circulation since its inception. Collection sites will not accept syringes, sharps, and illicit drugs. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container.
