Govt to extend support to boost investment, employment: CM

Today, on the first day of Pravasi Bhartiya Divas, NRIs and industrialists had a personal meeting and discussion with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Chouhan has said that the government will provide all help to boost investment and employment in various sectors in Madhya Pradesh.

Chouhan said that new investment is also welcome in the renewable energy sector. The state is continuously working in this area. CM Chouhan informed that the work is in progress for setting up a 600 megawatt floating plant at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh. Along with this, efforts are being made in the field of renewable energy in places like Shajapur, Neemuch, Chhatarpur and Morena. The renewable energy sector has been given a substantial boost. Will ensure assistance as per the state policy for investment in renewable energy sector. In previous years, benefits have been received from the solar power project in Rewa. Madhya Pradesh wants to promote the production of millets including Sharbati wheat and Basmati rice.

On the first day of the Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas convention in Indore on Sunday, the Chief Minister told various NRIs and industrialists regarding investment in Madhya Pradesh, that about 20 years ago the state witnessed problems related to electricity, water and roads were seen in Madhya Pradesh. Arrangements were strengthened in these areas. Investments started pouring in with the development of necessary infrastructure and with invitation of industrialists in various Global Investors Summits. Eligible youths started getting work. The economic condition of the state improved.

Madhya Pradesh has become a leader in many fields. Now work is being started in new areas. Concrete steps were taken for the development of information technology, pharmaceutical, agriculture, tourism, health, food processing and textile industries. The interest of NRIs is also increasing for investment in Madhya Pradesh.

New efforts will be made to invest in various sectors after getting the suggestions examined by the concerned departments received in this conference and the proposals received after that.

The NRIs and investors willing for investment in the fields of education and skill development, IT, setting up of science labs, renewable energy, marketing of organic products, tourism and starting mixed martial arts and fitness centres met Chouhan.

The Chief Minister was called on by Sajan Latif of Information Technology company in Gulf countries including UAE. Sajan is participating in the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas convention along with a group of 20 businessmen. He has initiated investment in medical tourism and cargo shipping. Today Siddiq Ahmed Group of UAE also met and apprised about the intention of investment. Aman Haider also met along with Polos Thepela Group (Qatar).

Ankit Bohra, originally a resident of Datia and currently living in the UK, met Chouhan and apprised him about the idea of setting up an incubation network at the district level. He proposed for employment and training to the youth at the district level.

Ashwajit Garg apprised Chief Minister Chouhan about the proposal of tourism resort in non-forest area in Dewas district. He informed about the intention to start a similar unit in Dewas following the current work of forest produce production and processing of forest produce on 25 acres near Mhow in Indore district.

Dhanraj Panchal, a native of Rajasthan and living in Kuwait, expressed his desire to work in the field of skill development to Chief Minister Chouhan.
