AKIPRESS.COM – Kyrgyzstan has received 20,160 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine against COVID-19, the Ministry of Health reported.

The vaccine will be distributed throughout the country to immunize vulnerable groups of the population. The cost of the vaccine is 136 thousand US dollars.

The Ministry of Health noted that Kyrgyzstan, among 58 countries, will continue vaccination against coronavirus in 2024.

“Despite the fact that the situation with COVID-19 in Kyrgyzstan is stable, getting vaccinated means protecting yourself from complications and significantly reducing the risk of infection,” Health Ministry’s specialist Zinat Beishebaeva.

The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine has been prequalified by WHO and is considered safe for citizens 6 months and older.

The Ministry of Health is working to identify target groups for vaccination against COVID-19 with WHO support.
