MEDARVA Foundation opens interactive medical science learning space at Short Pump Town Center

Pop of Confetti wants to help brides celebrate the magic of the moment with the ultimate bridal experience. That’s why year-round artisan market Pop of Confetti has released its own bridal collection called “Pop Bride.”
The curated collection features a variety of handmade items from its collective of 20+ female artisans, many of which can be customized, including hand-painted wedding invitations, preserved bridal bouquets, embroidered robes, and engraved cutting boards. The brand’s new integrated wedding concept will be shoppable in-store and online.
“No matter where brides are getting hitched or throwing a bachelorette, they can infuse local love into their celebrations,” said Pop of Confetti owner Allison Smith-Mackey, MBA. “I’m really excited to help brides live out their big, bold wedding dreams with custom elements from our creative community of local artisans.”
The Pop Bride collection also includes a curated collection of bridal clutches, bridal party Straws, bridal party earrings, disco ball cups, and more. Additionally, brides can unlock exclusive wedding offers with local businesses: Cirrus Vodka, JC Desserts, nudeFX spray tanning, Chelsea Schmidt Photography, DJ Anthony Bryan, Boka Tako, Richmond Flower Truck, and Society 11:11 hair and makeup.
When a bride or a loved one signs up for the Pop Bride email list, they will receive special discount codes. Brides can also host bridal showers and bachelorette parties in-store at 3422 West Cary Street, complete with cupcakes, champagne, and shopping deals. Pop of Confetti is a photo and event destination all its own complete with a confetti bar, a rainbow staircase, and a photo wall decked out in shimmering colorful tulle, all created by owner Smith-Mackey.
“Inviting local business partners and friends helps us fulfill our greater goal of uplifting the community,” Smith-Mackey says. “It’s a bonus that it will make things more streamlined for our Pop Brides.”
Smith-Mackey is the bright personality who founded the Pop of Confetti brand. She is an artist with a mission to uplift other artists and small business owners, honored with a recent “Rising Star” award by Richmond Region Tourism. Pop of Confetti has long-term partnerships with nonprofits Celebrate RVA and Girls for A Change. Both Richmond-based nonprofits receive 5% of all online purchases made with Pop. Additionally, Pop of Confetti customers can add $1 to their carts to support either or both nonprofits. Pop’s nonprofit partners benefit from additional fundraising opportunities through its curated events.
