MEDICAL TOURISM: Going to the Dentist in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for only $50 without insurance!
By the time we arrived in Vietnam, we had been traveling out of the United States for over 6 months, which for us meant, we hadn’t been to the dentist in even longer than that. We had heard about medical tourism before, so we thought we could give a dentist in Vietnam a try for our overdue cleaning. Knowing that it would be cheaper in Vietnam than the US, and knowing we would be coming home in about 2 months to no insurance made it even more lucrative.
So we set out on the interwebs to find out how we could make an appointment for a dentist in Vietnam. As always, the internet did not disappoint. We found the most helpful website ever for this sort of thing:

Dental Departures helps you locate dentists in 32 countries and provides reviews and ways to contact the clinics and make appointments. The process was even easier when an agent chatted with us on the website, found out what we needed, recommended a well-reviewed clinic nearby, and schedule our appointment for us the next morning. Literally all we had to do was show up.
We were helped right away, the office was clean, the staff was friendly, and the dentist was knowledgeable. I would say it was even better than any dentist office I’ve ever had at home in Las Vegas, USA! And to cap it off, the cost of Carlos and I each getting a dental cleaning, and me getting one filling came out to a whopping $50 USD total! I believe the breakdown was $15 for each cleaning and $20 for the filling. I was floored at the quality we received at the amazing low price of $50!
I would highly recommend looking into medical tourism, and especially for dental visits while you are traveling. From our experience, they are cost effective and quick! We especially recommend Rose Dental if you are going to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Here is their Dental Departures page:
