Often, we like believing that when we treat things as urgent, we get more done. However, sometimes, the habits we practice to accelerate the process of getting things done can actually come in the way of doing it right. Our daily routine decides the way we behave, live and feel. When we avoid certain negative practices, we can live a healthier life. Therapist Israa Nasir shared a few habits that we must avoid in our daily lives.(Unsplash)

Under-feeling or overthinking: When we suppress our emotions, we start to think less of our self-worth. Overthinking can lead to conjuring up disastrous imaginations and thinking that they will happen to us. Instead, we can focus on practicing emotional awareness and practice processing our emotions.(Unsplash)

Passive complaining: When we constantly complain, we may feel that we are being productive – but this can induce a negative mindset. Instead, we should acknowledge the problems and try to address them in a positive manner.(Shutterstock)

Multi-tasking: No matter how productive multi-tasking sounds, it actually brings down the quality of productivity. We should, instead, prioritise our tasks and allocate specific time to each task to complete them within deadlines.

Sitting all day: Prolonged sitting can have negative effects on health and contribute to a sense of lethargy. We should try to take regular breaks to stretch, walk or go for a run.(Shutterstock Photo)
