Orange County reported 1,824 new cases in seven days, Sept. 22 – Orange County Register
The OC Health Care Agency reported 1,824 more cases of the coronavirus from Thursday, Sept. 15, to Thursday, Sept. 22, increasing the cumulative total since tracking began in the county to 666,185.
There were 3,747 new cases reported in the last two-week period. The county is averaging at least 8.3 new cases a day per every 100,000 residents.
There were 124 people reported in Orange County hospitals with coronavirus on Thursday, including 21 who required intensive care.
The county also reported 21 more deaths, bringing the count of Orange County residents who have died from the virus to 7,432.
The data on deaths in the county is compiled from death certificates, or gathered through the course of case investigations, and can take weeks to process. The most recent death recorded was on Sept. 12.
