Tech Company Launches AI Chatbot to Help New Parents

Whether you are a new parent or just tackling new issues, you probably find yourself running to Google for answers at least a few times a week. In fact, a recent study showed that many first-time parents turn to Google an average of six times a day, searching for answers on everything from how to get baby’s diaper to fit just right to how to get baby to sleep, and when will baby start sleeping through the night.

In an increasingly isolated world where it seems like there’s no longer a close-knit “village” to help raise a child or run to, Google has become the go-to. The only problem—there’s plenty of information to wade through, and misinformation runs rampant. So what’s a parent to do?

To help parents cut through the chaos and misinformation AI leader Oath Based has created a new tool for parents. ParentGPT. Oath Care touts the AI chatbot as “first and only doctor-endorsed community platform” with AI built in to answer your most pressing parenting questions.

Unlike Google or ChatGPT, ParentGPT exclusively generates answers to your questions based solely on information sourced from peer-reviewed journals, real doctors and about 30 other credible sources like the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Institute of Child Health and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Michelle Stephens, co-founder of Oath Care and a pediatric clinician, observed the glaring lack of proper care recommendations for women and children in their early stages and decided to take matters into her own hands.

In an interview with Fast Company Stephens explained how the process of getting your questions answered is pretty straightforward, but the information sourced is anything but.

Say you have a question about breastfeeding. ParentGPT can compile information from a lactation consultant, a sleep specialist, and a therapist, complemented by personal experiences shared by fellow community members, to reconstruct that “trusted village” so many parents are looking for today.

“By breaking down complex medical jargon through AI and meticulously training our facilitators and experts on what language to use, we’re paving the way for a future where informed health choices are a universal right, not a privilege,” added co-founder Camilla Hermann.

ParentGPT and the Oath Care parenting and specialist community is currently available for access all across the US for $5 a month or an annual fee of $48. You can try it out for free now at ParentGPT.io.
